Plastic bottles are collected, trimmed, and crushed into small pieces, this is then melted into a resin to create a fiber material. This is spun and textured generating the fabric which makes these products.
CHARLY works with different suppliers that convert PET into recycled yarn and materials.
PET is the main component of the textile industries pollution and CHARLY seeks to make raw materials from it. Using recycled polyester reduces carbon emmisions and gives plastic bottles a second life, keeping them out of our oceans and landfills.
Recycling 5 half-liter bottles makes it possible to create 1 meter of fabric made with recycled materials. This saves 2,500 liters of water and 20kw of energy each time this process happens.
